about

I believe we all have our own heavens. Mine is quite simple, as simple as summer in the country, ocean waves rolling onto a pebble beach, a cup of tea, the sense of belonging. Perhaps ironically, this song celebrates life in its simplicity. It celebrates the ability to notice all the little things that make my existence worthwhile. And that all these little things are much more powerful than death. And that love conquers all. As simple as that.

Iweta Kulczycka

lyrics

The sun’s shining gently through the clouds
What a lovely day to say goodbye
The birds’re giving us all they have
So when you think of me, don’t ask why.
Just smile your crooked smile to me
Of that I’ll never have enough
And leave our dear Almighty be
She is quite busy with other stuff.

And please, don't bring me roses when I’m dead.
Please, bring me daisies instead.

With her chubby cheeks and teethless lips
Her omnipotent hands at work
She’s building a home for me just for me,
with a garden where heavenly creatures lurk.
With bees buzzing in the air
Unicorns grazing nearby
Look around at all the flowers rare
Look at the star-studded sky.

So please, don't bring me roses when I’m dead.
Please, bring me daisies instead.

And when finally your days are long gone
Will you pop in to say hello?
I will put my heavenly kettle on
And I will never, never let you go.
You’ll smile your crooked smile to me
We will then sing our own true song
And even the chubby Almighty will see
this is where we both belong.

So please, don't bring me roses when I’m dead.
Please, bring me daisies instead.

Let her giggle, let her laugh,
Let her torment the world below
Let her play with human hearts
And watch the star dust’s sparkling glow.
We will be happy in our home
Warm and cosy in our bed
Don’t bring me roses when I’m dead.
Please, bring me daisies instead.

So please, don't bring me roses when I’m dead.
Please, bring me daisies instead.

Witek Kulczycki & Knot Galway, Ireland

We believe that in music, as in life, diversity can be the source of beauty and inspiration.

Be it original compositions inspired by traditional music from all over the world, sea shanties, folk ballads, Balkan rhythms, or even mantras chanted along with the audience – we weave the threads of our music with respect for the traditions we draw from.
